Marvellous Maths

Last Thursday lunchtime there was a hard fought Year 7 inter-form maths challenge. Teams of four from each form battled against each other in an accuracy and timed challenge known as the Crossnumber. Each pair in a team were given the Down or Across clues and had to work together to fill in the shared answer grid, building on their solid communication and problem solving skills. Knowledge of Fibonacci sequences, powers of 2 and palindromes was needed to solve some of the more tricky problems. It was a closely fought battle with only a point separating the top two. 7C came out as winners, followed by 7E, 7B, 7F, 7D and 7A.

Thank you to all those who competed and we look forward to hosting the Year 8 competition this week on Wednesday – ask your tutors for more details.
