Over 3,000 trees planted after our fundraising

Everyone knows how important trees are for the planet, providing oxygen and a habitat for animals. Without trees life would not be able to survive anywhere on the planet . According to 8billiontrees.com, there are an estimated 3.04 trillion trees on the planet, a number that, although large, is getting smaller every year with the Amazon rainforest decreasing by 11% in 2022. It is clear that the situation on the planet needs to be changed. Just One Tree is a charity that aims to help institutions such as schools and businesses to plant trees. By donating to the charity, Just One Tree promises one tree for every pound given, making it possible for the schools and businesses to contribute to the environment where they would otherwise be unable to make an impact.

Our fundraising for this charity last term meant that our school has been able to plant 3045 trees around our planet. Sue from Just One Tree said: “We are beaming at the thought of the number of trees that are going to be planted and the amount of homes for wildlife that will be created by your forest.” The organisation added on Twitter: “We are getting closer and closer to the “quarter of a million trees planted” mark, purely by schools uniting on JUST ONE Tree Day! Thank you for joining with us to heal our planet.

Normally, a large tree can provide a day’ssupply of oxygen for up to four people andabsorb around 0.1kg of CO2 per day onaverage. So 3045 trees can supply oxygen for12180 people and absorb 304.5 kg of CO2 per day which can help us to save our world.
