Saxophone Ensemble Album Launch

Last term the Music Tech activity group converted the Music School into a recording studio and recorded a brand new album with three of the school’s saxophone ensembles.

Most of the tracks are supplied by the Advanced Saxophone Ensemble, but there are also recordings by the Intermediate Saxophone Ensemble and Saxlings – the Prep School ensemble.
The Holly Road Album, with more than a nod to the Beatles’ 60th anniversary, was launched at Friday’s Winter Concert.

It is available for just a £5 donation to the school’s nominated charity, Lend With Care. The charity provides affordable loans to entrepreneurs in low income countries to help people to work their way out of poverty with dignity. When the loan is repaid, the funds are released to provide another loan to another family.

Mr Abbott, who directs the saxophone ensembles said: “We are so pleased with this album, not least because it is a plastic free recording. The cardboard disc inside contains a QR Code so people can download the tracks directly to any internet enabled device.”

The saxophone students sold the album during the interval and at the end of the concert. Anyone who missed the Winter Concert, but would like to buy a copy, please visit the Music Office. They are ideal Christmas presents of course and easy to post!
