Race to Lebrang charity challenge

Ipswich School pupils will be dusting off their trainers, finding their goggles and getting on their bikes this half term as they take part in the school’s Race to Lebrang challenge in support of United World Schools.

The Ipswich School charity for Michaelmas term, UWS is an international organisation that builds and develops community schools in South East Asia. Our fundraising efforts will be directly helping Lebrang School in Nepal to recover from the devastating impact of Covid-19 and to allow generations of children to learn and develop.

To raise money, we’ve organised an exciting inter-house competition during October half-term: the Race to Lebrang!

The total distance between Ipswich School and the Lebrang School is a staggering 7382km. Divided by eight teams – the six houses and Years 7 and 8 – that’s 923km per house and roughly 10km per person.

The challenge is to complete 10km and get sponsored on the Race to Lebrang Just Giving page for as much as possible. Any self-propelled activities are applicable, for example swimming, cycling, running or walking.

A special form has been set up for pupils and staff to log their activities on. Each team has a chance to win prized Ganzoni and Cardinal Cup points should they reach their target of 10km per student. In addition, the house that achieves the furthest distance will receive a special prize.

The Senior Prefects made a special video about the charity challenge which was shown in the virtual Headmaster’s Assembly just before half term.
