The global importance of Chinese continues to rise, so we are pleased to offer opportunities for pupils to get to grips with the essentials of the language.
Mandarin Club runs from Year 7 at different levels of competence, so that pupils can continue to learn from year to year. In this way pupils can start the language from scratch, and achieve a basic understanding before leaving Ipswich School, to use as a springboard for potential future study.
Pupils with extensive knowledge and competence in Mandarin might even with to progress towards a qualification such as GCSE. Our native-speaker teacher of Chinese provides a fun and stimulating introduction to Chinese characters and pronunciation, leading to communication in full sentences across a range of important topics.
