Year 12 Internal Exams

In general, students at Ipswich School study 4 A Levels in Year 12, with the majority dropping to 3 in Year 13.  Students in Year 12 sit a full set of internal exams in June. In most subjects they sit two papers, each of 90 minutes in length, with full access arrangements available to those who qualify.

In some subjects, students sit the equivalent of AS papers, in others they sit questions taken from past A Level papers. In all cases, teachers formulate predicted grades based upon all knowledge gained about the student, of which the internal exam result plays an important part.

All exams are conducted by professional invigilators under public examination conditions.

AS Level Policy

With the advent of linear exams, our policy is that we do not enter pupils for AS exams unless they specifically request this.
